I Had to Relearn What Healthy Meant

I Had to Relearn What Healthy Meant — And It Changed My Skin Forever

For most of my life, I thought I knew what “healthy” meant. I ate my vegetables. I exercised. I stayed hydrated. I bought skincare products that claimed to be gentle, safe, or dermatologist recommended. I never once questioned what was actually inside them.

The Day Everything Changed One afternoon, I saw an article about toxic ingredients in everyday products. Out of curiosity, I picked up my bottle of lotion and read the label. I couldn’t pronounce half of the ingredients. The ones I could pronounce, I didn’t fully understand. So I Googled them.

The results shocked me:

• Parabens — linked to hormone disruption

• Sulfates — strip away natural oils and irritate sensitive skin

 • Synthetic fragrance — common allergen and possible endocrine disruptor

 • Petrochemicals — derived from petroleum, sometimes contaminated with toxins

And these weren’t rare boutique products — they were mainstream lotions, shampoos, and soaps from big-box stores.

What “Healthy” Really Means That day, I realized healthy isn’t just about diet and exercise. It’s also about what we put on our bodies. Your skin is your largest organ. It absorbs what you put on it, which means those ingredients don’t just stay on the surface — they can enter your body and build up over time. If we care about what goes into our bodies, shouldn’t we care just as much about what goes on them?

Choosing Ingredients from Nature I decided to only use products made with nature’s own ingredients — the ones God already placed here for us:

 • Organic plant oils like olive oil, coconut oil, and shea butter

 • Raw goat milk for vitamins and minerals that nourish skin

 • Oatmeal for soothing eczema and irritation

 • Raw honey for natural antibacterial and moisturizing benefits

No synthetic fragrances. No dyes. No harsh detergents. And the difference? Within weeks, my skin felt softer, calmer, and healthier than it had in years.

Why This Matters for You If you’ve struggled with eczema, dry skin, acne, or irritation, it might not just be “your skin type.” It could be the toxins in your skincare products. You deserve products that work with your body, not against it.

Finding Truly Natural Skincare If you want to start swapping out products for natural, toxin-free options, look for these on labels:

• Unscented or scented only with essential oils

 • Paraben-free

• Sulfate-free • Made with organic ingredients

 • Cruelty-free

 • Handmade

At our shop, we handcraft every product from scratch, using only the purest ingredients nature has to offer. No fillers. No shortcuts. No compromises. Because when it comes to your skin, healthy should actually mean healthy.
